Valentine's day is over-rated, commercialised & cliche. Restaurants, shopping centres are all capitalising on the guilt-laden day for couples to celebrate their love for one another. A mere exercise of peer pressure & one-upmanship on others as you witness how the guy is expected to outdo his friend by taking the girl out, giving him the bragging rights later. I don't subscribe to this but I do know a number of un-attached individuals who have been made to feel crappy without a date on this fateful day so normally, come this time of the year, I would gather everyone for a scrumptious dinner where they would be able to tuck in heartily in the presence of friends & their partners.

Date: 14 February 2009
Time: 8:00pm
Place: B'Sentral Restaurant, Brickfields.
Method of Payment: Dutch or Pay Your Own.

B'Sentral serves the most delicious authentic Butter Chicken, Manchurian Chicken, Bendi Masala, Lamb Curry, Tandoori Chicken & Naan. The most notable thing they serve is the Roti Romali, something like naan but cooked without oil on an inverted wok, which is the perfect accompaniment to the dishes above!

They also make their own ice-cream (my favourite) with ciku & butterscotch being their specialty to complement your dinner afterwards. There's a special drink that I had concocted here being their faithful customer, it's called the Ciku Lassi. It is the most delicious drink ever & if ciku is not your taste, you can order the infamous Problem Tea.......'teh masala,' a spice-infused cuppa milk tea!

All singles & unattached individuals are invited to come and if you are married, you may bring your spouse too if you find what I've said in the first paragraph to be true for you. You don't need Valentine's day to celebrate your love right? Let's celebrate friendship instead!!!

yeah Valentine's Day meaningless, i share your sentiments Pummkin especially the part where i quoted but unfortunately we are on the side that is the minority...

Never cared much about it until my wife ask me on the day itself.. "Wei, where is my Valentine's Gift:"

... hahaha i may have to defect to the other side and join the powerful side:D like what we saw recently in Perak..."losing principles":p

The dinner is extended to you all lah, don't worry, single or couple can still come. The last time I organised this, all the married couples came to support the singles!!! That's quite a sight! We all had fun as usual & we even took a tour around the kitchen!!! Hahahahhahah! The owner was having fun too!

Do join me if you are free, it's located near the junction of the Pos Office & school on the road parallel to Jln Tun Sambanthan.

Ok, for those who missed this one, 27 people turned up, finished every ciku they had, licked all plates clean & had a fabulous time! Only Ashley from Skrew Skrew was there but we all had fun anyway! :rules:

Although I am not single, I spent the bloody Valentine day home alone. One of my all time favourite bands is called My Bloody Valentine. I agree that Valentine's Day is too commercialised and just like Christmas & many other festival days, it's exploited by the evil Capitalists. You got my support in cyber space :)

Hah! I spent Saturday with Rufus & he was such an active Valentine's date!!! Got him a new rug as I had to wash his existing rug but he chose to sleep on my sofa and my dive bag instead. By the time I woke up from my nap, I had to get ready to be the host at B'Sentral. Initially only 15 confirmed but the turn out was unexpected.....
