It seems there is a special kind of different regards on the Olympus 300 series, as in the e300 and the e330.

I bought the e300 without know much about it but it was the earliest dslr (or any digital camera) that didn't have shutter lag that irritated me.

So what is so great about this two camera?

Keat Camera's Raymond told me he has one used e330 priced at Rm 1600. That is even higher than what a used e510 can sell?

E-300 have a Kodak sensor..hence Kodak COLORS!!!

E-330 is the grand daddy of all the current E-systems.. it's the first to Olympus dSLR to have the Panasonic Live Mos Sensor

Both these cameras can use the built in flash plus the external FL36 and Fl20 (for the E-330, the FL50 as well) together. So 1 can be for bounce while the other for fill in.

The E-330 is also the first to have a Live View and till today the only Olympus that can truly say to have a usable live view mode A

There are many first with the E-300 and E-330 and it's a love hate relationship.. You must trully understand the limitations of this wonderful camera to appreciate it.

because there's no prism hump, hence a flat top, it will easily fit in a camera bag without wasting precious space or change the bag's shape...

Thanks, Now that the 510 have live view too and many more function, why the e330 sell higher than 510 used?

Is the Kodak colours better than the Pana Live Mos?

E510 Live view only One Mode unlike E330 Mode A and B
E510 live view sucks try both then you will understand or ask Master Blu for Demo for the E330

Colors... just trust Master Blu when he says Kodak Colors:love:

On the pricing, its just demand and supply equation...510 has many newer and better replacements that improves on the standard features such as 520,30,620 but 330 until today can't be replace if you namely look for Kodak sensor and Live View 2 modes unless Olympus produces a E-350 and make Blu a happy DOM:D

With all said, maybe you dont not like Kodak Colors and LV Mode A, by all means go for 510 or 520 or 620.... E330 may not be for everyone:)

Cheers

E-300 is with the Kodak Sensor.

E-330 is the first to use the Panasonic Sensor.

Oly Image Processor engine has evolved from TruePic to TruePic 3+.. that's 4 iterations...

only E-1 uses a unique Image Processor called ASIC, that produced the legendary Kodak colors... the other E-300/500 perasan je, as they used the TruePic 2 engine... i know, coz I used E-500 before.. :p

E-500 has problems with Red and Purple. Red = too saturated... Purple = Indigo...

TruePic 3 corrected this, and started with the Panny sensors... TruePic 3 colors are a bit muted, as Oly was moving to truer colors... less saturation, kua!

all is history....

Good info, thanks. Will do some same subject shots with 520 and 300 to see the difference.

A new discovery.. The E-330 gives cleaner images at ISO100 and 200 than the new Es.
