How can I add a blue sky when it's just a white mush?? What is the easiest way?

Thanks in advance.

Sometimes a Cokin gradual gray works. There are other Cokin filters like gradual blue available, but I was not really happy with the results. Apart from filter you can try photoshop.

If nothing works I try to cut the sky to the bare minimum or cut it out completely.

You can add the sky using Photoshop/GIMP/Paint .NET -> http://www.digicamhelp.com/processing-photos/advanced-editing/sky/

blu,

you can use the principles of Zone System.. if you want to get your sky to be blue, you can set it to zone V or VI... but, the ground will be into zone III or even II (which is black)...

what you can do is to shoot in raw, meter your sky in Zone VI... then, do a layer mask using Contrast Mask... you should be able to pull the contrast closer & tighter...

Hi Blu,

Can try to post the photo and let us try our hands on it? After that, we can show the step by step sequence of getting that done.
