mine almost 4 years, return on investment already exceed..bought rm900 back to dis 2005. got problem august this year, previously used it on e500. current gear is e3.

from the earlier thread and discussion between me and cif, the theory is that the 40-150 mk1 has issues when used with dslr models E510 and beyond, which was when mk2 was introduced and mk1 discontinued.

my mk1 works well on E500 but went nuts after being plugged into some weirdo's E3. that weirdo also has problem with his mk1. we would like to see if there is a correlation here since no other lenses seem to be plague by such problem.

for those who sent their mk1 to be repaired, please share what sc reported about the problem (though i don't really trust they know what they were doing).

if we can get enough data, we can send it to tan tick boon and see what he has to say. we have enough engineers here to come out with a technical report.

7. Taja: bought in 2008 for my E410. Served me perfectly well then I bought the 70-300mm. Sold last week but buyer complaint of 'apperture jem' ON HIS E510, took it back but found absolutely nothing wrong. On WTS list this week, will see till weekend whether got buyer, otherwise will keep it.

i sent it to SC last week, got it back today. this is pretty fast, considering christmas in between and holiday season. the report says "replaced 3G housing", and i asked for the replaced unit- looks like a small magnifying glass with ribbon cables all over. they charged rm196 and initial test looks ok.

i'll post the photo of the darn thing the next time i feel like taking the camera out of the dry box.

8. Urs, bought it for E510 in February 2008. I'm not sure if it is MK1 but you probably will know. Since July 2009 I use the 40-150 also with my E-3. So far I have no problem.
