Focusing Problem with Zuiko 70-300

Hi everybody,

Last Saturday I was doing some outdoor shooting where I used also my 70-300 for some bird shots. Suddenly it would not focus anymore, not even in manual mode. I can hear the motor sound, but it does not focus. I can put it on manual, but still I cannot get anything sharp. All other lenses work perfectly with the E-3. I tried to clean the contacts, but no change. Is there anything else I should or can do?

In case I have to send it for repair I still have the not filled but stamped warranty. To be frank the lens is almost 2 years old.

Have you tried the same lens with another camera body?

Yes, I tested the lens on my E510 as well, same result, no focusing neither in auto nor manual model.

Looks like your lens need s trip to the hospital at Mont Kiara.

In your experience would that be covered by the warranty?

Thanks for the advise - will have to see the hospital .... hopefully they to not take months to get it fixed!
