Finally, got some semblance of a workflow to geotag my pics:
1) Open up Geotag (http://geotag.sourceforge.net/)
2) Add selected images to it

3) Geotag allows you to select the image location via Google Map

4) Save the image location into the image and voila, I can see it in Digikam (my photo mgmt application)

Sucky thing is that when I upload the image to Flickr, it doesn't seem to recognize the geotags and still expects me to select the geographical location using their Organizr tool... stupid.
