It's not. If it is, why ask for ways to improve? It's OOF, the DOF is too thin and right smack in the middle. :(

The one on the right looks a bit 3D. Either way, its really sharp.

A different angle of shot would be nice. Shooting in front and about 5 degrees on top of the spider to make a longer shadow.
Just my 2 pence.

Now that's what I call improvement.. Nice
The last pic is too dark around the edges.....As if the spider decided to peek.
get another source of light to compensate the shadows. it may be much weaker than the primary yet would give a desirable effect.
suggestion- use the redflector.
